Content model

This page explains the types of MEGOGO content and how they are connected.

Objects

Each item of the catalog is an object with an ID. The same ID is used in the XML feed (object@id) and in the Content API (id, video_id).

Series, seasons and episodes

  • /video/info of a series gives season_list. Each season has id, order, total (the number of episodes) and episode_list.
  • Only the first season has the episodes in episode_list. For the other seasons, send /video/episodes?id={season_id}.
  • To play an episode, send its ID to /stream. The response has root_video_id (the series), prev and next.

Trailers

A film or a series can have one trailer. The user can watch it without a subscription and without an access token. Send the trailer ID to /stream.

4K versions

A 4K version of a film is a separate object. Its title usually ends with "UHD" or "UHD HDR". In the XML feed it has quality value="UHD". Show it only if MEGOGO set 4K for your key. See DRM.

Categories and genres

/configuration gives the categories and the genres:

  • categories[]: id, title, genres (the genre IDs of the category). Use the category ID in /video?category_id={id}.
  • genres[]: id, title.

The XML feed gives the same categories in object/categories/category.

Some categories (for example TV or audiobooks) can be in the list but not in your contract. Show only the categories that have videos for your key.

Languages of the text

The Content API gives the text in the language of lang. The XML feed gives the text in the language of the file (for example all_mgg.xml in Russian). See XML feed reference.
